Concise celebration
“Hard-earned and thoroughly deserved. Congratulations on your promotion—could not happen to a better person.”
Most promotion messages are written in the ten minutes after the announcement goes out, in a channel where a great many other people are also replying. That is a real format with real constraints, and it is what this set is written for.
Everything here is under 25 words and finished at that length rather than trimmed to it. None of them read as an afterthought, because the shortest version of a specific observation still lands, and the longest version of a generic one still does not.
Short is also the right register in two awkward cases. If the person now manages you, brevity keeps the note unambiguous where a paragraph invites interpretation. And if you were a candidate for the same role, one unhedged sentence is far stronger than a longer message that is visibly doing work.
Where to go longer: if you were close to the work that earned it, and the note is yours alone, the heartfelt set on the main promotion page has room to name what you actually watched happen.
